What a week...we lost Spotty, we lost some rats, we got two more corns, we got 12 eggs and I don`t know if I`m supposed to be sad or happy....I guess a mixture of both. :P

We desided to sell Aru, he didn`t match our breeding plans, and he was not sexually mature yet. We delivered him last week, and I`m sure he got a good home! Good luck to P. and Aru! :)

Ingrid has finally laid her eggs. It`s her first year, and there are some slugs. The whole clutch, slugs included, is in the incubator at the moment.
I`ll separate the slugs that aren`t attatched after a fertile check.

Pairing up our Normal female ball python with our Spider male, seems like it was to soon for the Lemon Pastel male. Crossing our fingers! x x

Denta passed an urine "stone" the other day, she is so big that I haven`t felt it.
Here in comparison with a cork from a soda bottle.

4 days ago one of the corn females laid 2 eggs and one slug. Not sure if they were ok and fertile, but I placed them in the incubator.

Sadly, yesterday morning I discovered a snake (Spotty) inside the incubator!
(picture below)

Picture
She had forced open her sliding glassdoors and gotten into the incubator. She has NEVER gotten out before and the glassdoors are very tight.
Darn that snake...she most likley crushed the two soft eggs, and I guess that means no anerys this year, unless I gan get the female in the mood ASAP!

New probingkit arrived today, and it was time to check all the snakes. It gave us nothing less than 5 surprices!!!!
4 males turned in to females and 1 female turned into a male...
NEVER EVER trust a salesman when it comes to gender I guess, it`s best to probe the animal BEFORE you buy.

A pleasant surprice with 4 more female corns, now I just have to many Royal Python males.

Bougth two cornsnakes this week as well, a Normal female and a poss Fire male. They was sold as oposit genders, but no worries as long as it`s one of each.

Picture
All the corns have shed and are "according to the book" ready for mating!
Two of the couples will be put together tomorrow, and the last pair will be put together after the male has had a meal.
If I wait until the end of april I guess Cleo could be ready too. She is in shed now and has grow a lot this last 6 months.

A lot happens during a month...we lost Nelly, our Pewter corn. She had a severe constipation and urine stones when we bought her, she had refused her meals for months and she was to weak to survive the operation. We have done all we can, its just natures way.
Then again it is time to focus on all the other healthy animals. All the corns who have been hibernating is awakening and we are getting ready for mating season. Not that many pairs, but it is our first year and we`d like a slow start.
List over pairs in the breeding page.
